SPY
Pipeline Inspection Co was started in 1953, the principal product of the company is the holiday detector. A "holiday" is a term used in the oil and gas industry to denote a defect in coated pipe.
SPY offers five portable holiday detectors, with infinite voltage settings to allowing for the exact voltage level for the coating you are inspecting, whatever the coating - extruded, tape or thin film epoxy coatings.
A range of electrodes which includes Spring, Brush and Conductive Rubber, are available to suit most applications.
SPY also manufacture a Pig TrackingSystem which are used to track movement of a pig as well as locating pigs that become stuck and/or lost in the pipeline.
Portable Detectors
Spy-790 - 5,000 to 35,000 pulse voltage for a wide range of coatings.
Spy-785 - 1,000 to 15,000 pulse voltage is designed for thicker coatings.
Spy-780 - 0 to 5,000 DC voltage - is designed for thin film coatings.
Electrodes
Range of Electrodes available include : Full Circle Spring, Full and ½ circle brush & neoprene, and Flat Brass Brush.
Jeepmeter
The model JM Jeepmeter measures both pulse upto 40kv & DC voltage upto 5kv output providing the ultimate in accuracy & versatility. The precision measurement on the digital display eliminates interpretation errors & is perfect for every day tests.
Jeepmeter - PJM
The Pocket Jeepmeter is for high voltage pulse output detectors. It has a range of 0-20kv. Two standard 9 volt alkaline batteries power the PJM.
Jeepmeter - DCPJM
The DC Pocket Jeepmeter measures the output voltage of DC Holiday Detectors. It has a range of 0-5 kv, this DCPJM requires batteries.
Pig Trackers
Pig Trackers are devices that are used to track the passage and pinpoint locate a pipeline pig that is equipped with an appropriate transmitter. Pig tracking sensors are utilized to indicate the passage of a pig past a given point in the line.
Pig Tracker Sensors
The Pig Tracking Sensors mount directly onto the pipe as either a permanent mount, or a tempory one using steel pipe clamps, straps or a locally approved attaching method. It is non-intrusive, requires no holes or probes in the pipe.
