CRC EVANS Automatic Welding
CRC-Evans provides a wide range of equipment and technology for pipeline welding and other applications. The flexibility and options offered by this range enables CRC-Evans to help customers configure the most efficient system to accomplish job-specific goals.
CRC-Evans Pipeline Welding System was developed specifically for producing quality girth welds at high production rates. It consists of three major components : Pipe Facing Machine, Internal Welding Machine (or Internal Line-up Clamp) and External Welding Machines.
External Automatic Welder
The Dual-Torch P600 from Automatic Welding is today's state-of-the-art external welding system for high productivity or cost reduction applications. This system represents a new generation in external welding machines. The P600 is an opportunity to complete projects faster and more efficiently.
Pipe Facing Machine
The Pipe Facing Machine was developed to machine the complex bevel required by the CRC-Evans automated pipeline welding system using a combination of mechanical and hydraulic components to produce bevels with a tolerance of +/-0.005" (0.13mm).
Band
The band is placed around the circumference of the pipe. The External Welding Machine clamps onto the band and travels around pipe on the band as it makes the weld. They are usually manufactured from 5" wide spring steel.
Internal Automatic Welding Machine
CRC Evans Internal Welding Machines aligns the two pipe ends with each other, locks them in place and then automatically welds the root bead on the inside of the joint. The root bead is normally deposited in less than 1.25 minutes (up to 48" diameter).The internal Welding Machine is available for pipe sizes from 24" to 60" diameter. Internal Welding Machines comes with full digital control of all functions.
Copper Back-Up Internal Clamp
The CRC-Evans Copper Back-Up Clamp is designed to meet a variety of pipeline welding applications using automated euipment. In addition to functioning as an internal pipe line-up clamp, a CBUC supports external root bead weld deposition with a copper backing surface. A CBUC makes it possible to deposit more consistent, higher quality external root beads with normal pipe alignment.
